17.88 Days! Gaoshi 009-H14 Well 3 Sets The Fastest Drilling Cycle Record

The Gaoshi 009-H14 well drilled by the Sichuan Qing 70291 team was successfully drilled to the completion depth of 2993 meters in the third opening. The drilling cycle of the 333.4 mm borehole of the third opening of the well was only 17.88 days, setting a record for the shortest drilling cycle of the third opening of horizontal wells in the Gaomo area.

Gaoshi 009-H14 well is a development well deployed by Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company on the eastern slope of the Deng 2 top boundary structure in the Gaoshiti block in central Sichuan. The designed well depth is 6788 meters. The purpose of drilling this well is to use process wells to increase the single well production of Deng 2 3 small layers in Gaoshi 1 well area and support the construction of Deng 2 gas reservoir capacity in Gaoshi 1 well area.

Before drilling, in order to ensure the safe and rapid construction of the well, Chuandong Drilling and Suining Joint Project Department organized a site meeting for each construction unit. In view of the complex geological characteristics and drilling difficulties of the block, combined with engineering design and neighboring well construction experience, a technical plan was jointly formulated.

During the construction, Chuanqing 70291 team strictly implemented technical instructions, technical cadres carefully studied the drilling engineering design, conducted technical briefings for the team, and did a good job in risk identification of key construction links.

Entering the third opening, the company clarified the key technical measures for this opening, and the team strictly implemented them at their posts and strengthened the identification and control of safety risks. On November 29, for the first time in the Gaomo block, a 333.4 mm wellbore was achieved through the five layers of Sha 2, Sha 1, Lianggaoshan Formation, Ziliujing Formation, and Xujiahe Formation in one trip, which also broke the record of the highest footage of a single drill bit in the Gaoshi 009 wellbore of this size.

Under the guidance of the company, they accurately implemented technical measures, scientifically lowered drilling tools, efficiently guaranteed mud performance, achieved overall drilling speed-up, and created a record of 17.88 days for the third opening drilling cycle of horizontal wells in the Gaomo area.
