Product Information
A test flange is a flange that has no holes or outlets and is designed to close the outlet or end connections. These flanges are blind flanges with a threaded test port in the center or side to allow pressure to be applied or a gauge to be attached. They are blind flanges with drilled and threaded NPT (threaded port connections).
The test flanges are the parts where pipes are connected to each other. There are holes on the flanges for bolts to connect the two flanges tightly. It can be cast, threaded or welded. The flange connection consists of a pair of flanges, a gasket and several bolts and nuts. The gasket is placed between the sealing surfaces of the two flanges. After the nut is tightened, the specific pressure on the surface of the gasket will deform when it reaches a certain value, and fill the unevenness on the sealing surface to make the connection tight and leak-proof.

In our full-service machine shop, we typically drill these flanges in offset (fill/drain) or center locations using ½", ¾" 1", 1-1/2" and 2" NPT /tapping.
