During the Spring Festival, in the Tarim Oilfield in Xinjiang, drilling of my country's first Wanmike exploration well, Shenzhen Tako 1 Well, continued. After the drilling depth of Well Taco 1 reaches 9,850 meters, the drill bit will be replaced. The new drill bit will go to the previous operating position and continue drilling for 10,000 meters.
Scientific exploration wells are referred to as scientific exploration wells. Its main purpose is to explore the evolution of the earth, the origin of life, climate change, disaster prevention and resource utilization. The biggest difference between it and an ordinary well is that the area it wants to explore is an unknown area that has never been drilled before.
260 billion cubic meters of deep natural gas produced in Tarim Basin
The reporter learned from the China Petroleum Tarim Oilfield that the natural gas produced from the deep strata below 4,500 meters in the Tarim Basin, where the Shenzhen Taco 1 Well is located, exceeded 260 billion cubic meters.
Currently, the Tarim Oilfield's daily natural gas production is close to 100 million cubic meters, and most of this natural gas is extracted from deep formations seven to eight kilometers underground. The Bozi Dabei Gas Region, as my country's newly developed main deep-earth natural gas production area, has seen its production rising steadily since the beginning of winter.

Li Zhiming, head of the Boda Oil and Gas Production Management Area of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield: There are currently 102 wells open, and the daily natural gas production has reached 30 million cubic meters, creating a record high, ensuring the west-east gas transmission and ensuring that residents across southern Xinjiang have a warm winter.
The Tarim Basin is my country's largest petroleum-bearing basin and is rich in ultra-deep oil and gas reserves. The Tarim Oilfield has built five major deep and ultra-deep natural gas production areas in the southern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains and the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert, with an annual gas production of 30 billion cubic meters.

Wang Xiaoliang, deputy director of the Drilling Institute of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Oil and Gas Engineering Research Institute: In 2023 alone, 72 wells exceeding 8,000 meters will be completed, and ultra-deep wells have become the main means of oil and gas exploration and development in the Tarim Oilfield. At present, 18 million tons of oil and gas are extracted from ultra-deep formations in our Tarim Oilfield every year.
In order to speed up the "realization" of new well production capacity, Tarim Oilfield has accelerated the construction of surface supporting system projects and accelerated the improvement of oil and gas gathering and transportation capabilities. The natural gas extracted from the deep strata of the Tarim Basin is collected through the criss-crossing pipelines in the oil field to the first station of the West-East Gas Pipeline, and then transported to Wanli Guomai.
10,000-meter deep well drives iterative upgrade of petroleum equipment manufacturing
The world's first 12,000-meter deep well automated drilling rig was used in the 10,000-meter deep well. At the same time, nearly 200 domestic top-notch equipment such as casing, drill bits, and downhole tools independently developed by my country were put into use, promoting the drilling and production equipment industry chain. Iterative upgrades.
Recently, my country's newly developed steel pipes with the highest grade of steel in my country were sent to the site of a 10,000-meter deep well, and will be used to support the well wall after the well breaks through 10,000 meters. The depth of 10,000 meters places higher requirements on the strength and toughness of oil casing.

Zhang Zhonghua, chief scientist of China Baowu Group: We have developed the world's first hot-rolled seamless steel pipe online control cooling equipment system and key core technologies with completely independent intellectual property rights. This is our world's first 15A ultra-high temperature for the deep underground Taco 1 well. The impact toughness of high-strength and high-toughness casing is as high as 120 joules, which is more than 50% higher than conventional manufacturing technology.
Once the drilling tool reaches a depth of 10,000 meters, it will cause immeasurable losses if it deforms and falls off. The R&D personnel simulated dozens of underground high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions and conducted hundreds of experiments and field tests.

Lu Xiaoqing, chief engineer of product design technology of Baosteel Co., Ltd.'s Steel Pipe and Strip Steel Division: The steel grade, anti-collapse performance, sealing performance and other key performance indicators of the casing are more than 21% higher than the highest steel grade casing, and it can be used in a high temperature environment of 220°C. , the performance indicators of the casing can still remain unchanged.
In addition, the 10,000-meter deep well drilling has also developed and applied high-efficiency rock-breaking drill bits, elevators with a load-bearing capacity of 1,000 tons, drill pipes with a tensile strength of 942 tons, high-strength metal-sealed coring tools, and high-temperature drills that can withstand 230°C high temperatures and 175 MPa high pressures. A large number of scientific and technological tools such as logging instruments have strongly supported drilling to depths of 10,000 meters.
