MMG's Redebai Oilfield Receives Nearly 100 Tons Of High-yield Oil Flow
Jun 07, 2024
On April 14, PetroChina (Kazakhstan) Mangystau Company (MMG) received 99.83 tons of self-flowing oil flow from the development and evaluation well 7772 deployed in the deep layer of the Redebai Oilfield. This is the third development and evaluation well implemented after the industrial oil flow discovery of wells 7770 and 7771 deployed last year, marking another breakthrough in the supplementary exploration of the Redebai Oilfield.

MMG has produced more than 6 million tons of crude oil for three consecutive years. The Redebai Oilfield is one of its two main oilfields, producing 2.06 million tons of oil in 2023. The oilfield was put into development in 1969, with a recovery rate of up to 70% of the recoverable reserves. There are thousands of development wells in the only 97 square kilometers of development rights, and it is extremely difficult to maintain stable production in the oilfield. MMG relies on the relevant supporting technologies of China's integrated exploration and development, and takes the research of "new understanding of development strata, new deep targets and new areas of peri-inclined areas" as its guiding ideology, and strives to carry out supplementary exploration work in old oilfields.
The Development Department of CNPC International has organized project companies and research institutes to conduct deep potential demonstration of Redebai Oilfield many times, and proposed a deployment plan for the "low-amplitude structure + lithology" trap target. By utilizing surrounding oil wells, the technical support units were organized to carry out small-spacing mapping and reservoir prediction, and the best well location was selected in the target area, and 7772 wells were successfully deployed.
The precise tapping of the potential of 7772 wells has rejuvenated the 55-year-old oilfield and made new contributions to the company's quality and efficiency improvement.
