Valve Body Exported
Mar 06, 2023
Gate valves are comprised of three main components - the valve body and seats, the gate (or disc) and stem, and the bonnet and packing. When in use, the valve body and seats remain stationary, while the stem, which is threaded, is rotated to lift the gate away from the seats. Rotation of the stem is accomplished manually with a handwheel or automatically with a valve actuator. The bonnet allows the disc to move freely when the valve is open, and also provides a space for the stem packing which is where the stem exits the valve.
