The First PetroChina-Kazakhstan Deep Oil And Gas Exploration Technology Exchange Conference Was Held

From October 21st to 22nd, the first PetroChina-Kazakhstan Deep Oil and Gas Exploration Technology Exchange Conference was held in Urumqi. The meeting aims to further expand the field of oil and gas cooperation between the two countries, improve the level of cooperation, and promote the rapid growth of the oil and gas industry in Central Asia by sharing the latest research results and practical experience of both parties in deep oil and gas exploration technology.
"After years of cooperation, Kazakhstan and PetroChina have established a mutual trust and win-win partnership in the fields of oil and gas exploration and development, transportation, processing and sales." Hasenov Ashat, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, introduced that PetroChina Gas Group Co., Ltd. has been successfully operating in Kazakhstan for 26 years and has long become one of Kazakhstan’s important strategic partners in the energy field.
Over the past 26 years, oil professionals from China and Kazakhstan have worked side by side and worked hard to jointly build cooperation in the oil and gas field into a model for jointly building the “Belt and Road”. Zhang Daowei, deputy general manager of China National Petroleum Corporation, said that currently, PetroChina and its partners are jointly operating 13 key cooperation projects in Kazakhstan. PetroChina has become one of the most important foreign investors in Kazakhstan’s energy field.
In the future, PetroChina will continue to thoroughly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, cooperate sincerely with Kazakh partners, strengthen oil and gas exploration and development, focus on the integrated development of traditional and new energy, build a community of shared future for energy cooperation in the new era, and promote China-Kazakhstan cooperation. Energy cooperation achieves long-term sustainable development.
At the exchange meeting, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan National Oil and Gas Company, and PetroChina respectively made exchange speeches on the progress and cooperation proposals of China-Kazakhstan’s deep oil and gas exploration, the development of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas exploration business, and the basis for the growth of natural gas resources. After the meeting, the two parties also went to the Hutubi gas storage and Hutan 1 well of PetroChina Xinjiang Oilfield Branch for on-site inspection and investigation.
