Successfully Completed The Drilling! Set A New Asian Record!

Aotan 1 Well is located in the Manxi Slope Fold Zone of the Tarim Basin. It is an ultra-deep key risk exploration well deployed by China National Petroleum Corporation in the Daqing Tadong Exploration Area. It was drilled on October 15, 2023, and drilled through nine layers from top to bottom, including the Quaternary, Tertiary, Cretaceous, and Triassic. The geological conditions are complex and the engineering process requirements are high.

Daqing Oilfield attaches great importance to the construction of Aotan 1 Well and strives to promote exploration technology to the ultra-deep, ultra-difficult, and ultra-high pressure fields. The Xinjiang Branch of the Oilfield, the Drilling Engineering Company, and related scientific research institutes aim at geological and engineering difficulties, set up a well site "laboratory" in the way of "anatomizing the sparrow", adhere to "one layer, one trick", select high-temperature resistant drilling tools, research and explore well control technologies such as pressure-controlled drilling, gel slugs, and heavy slurry caps, establish a multi-well linkage mechanism, and adopt the method of experts stationed in the well to strengthen drilling tool flaw detection, regular replacement of drilling tools, and other work to effectively ensure drilling safety.

The construction of Aotan 1 well was accident-free throughout the whole process, and China Petroleum achieved new breakthroughs in "deep earth engineering" in terms of speed-up tools, directional tools, water-based mud, special rock and mineral logging and other technologies and fine management. The person in charge of relevant work of Xinjiang Branch of Oilfield said that in the future, they will continue to tackle the oil and gas testing engineering technology under extreme geological conditions in the Daqing Tadong exploration area to achieve the geological goal of liberating ultra-deep large-scale oil and gas resources.
