My Country's Largest Shale Gas Production Base Has Produced More Than 80 Billion Cubic Meters Of Gas

On June 28, the reporter learned from PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company that the largest shale gas production base in my country, PetroChina South Sichuan Shale Gas Field, has produced 80.19 billion cubic meters of gas in total. The South Sichuan Shale Gas Field is mainly distributed in Neijiang, Zigong, Yibin, Luzhou, Sichuan and Chongqing Yuxi, and is one of the regions with the richest shale gas resources in my country.

PetroChina started to explore and develop shale gas in 2006. Through continuous research, it has developed a number of key technologies for shale gas development in southern Sichuan, including geological stability evaluation technology, integrated geological engineering 3D modeling and simulation technology, development optimization technology, fast drilling technology, and fine fracturing technology. The southern Sichuan shale gas field has cultivated the first deep shale gas well with a test output of over one million cubic meters, the Lu 203 well, and has made breakthroughs in the new formations of the Daye 1 well and the Zi 201 well, with a daily output exceeding 40 million cubic meters.

So far, PetroChina has built a shale gas field with "trillion cubic meters of reserves and 10 billion cubic meters of production" in the middle and deep layers of the southern Sichuan shale gas field, and is building a second deep shale gas field with "10 billion cubic meters of production". The new strata are being evaluated and prepared for the third shale gas field with "10 billion cubic meters of production".
