Go Into The Ground And Into The Sea, China's Depth ! At The Beginning Of The New Year, A Group Of Important Weapons From Major Powers Achieved New Breakthroughs
Mar 02, 2024
The drilling depth of my country's first Wanmike exploration well, Shendi Tak 1 Well, has exceeded 9,900 meters on the afternoon of February 13, and it is sprinting towards the 10,000-meter formation. So far, my country's first 10,000-meter-deep well has used newly replaced diamond drill bits to extract ancient rock specimens 50 times in a row.

The Shenzhen Taco 1 well was drilled into a 9,000-meter-deep formation at the end of December 2023. According to experts, the high temperature and pressure deep in the formation at 9,000 meters, coupled with rock extrusion, caused a significant decline in drilling progress. The high temperature and pressure deep in the formation also caused damage to some drilling tools and failure of some electronic components. Currently, staff use the measurement-while-drilling system to monitor changes in underground conditions in real time.

In recent years, my country has successively made a number of major oil and gas discoveries in the ultra-deep fields of the Tarim, Junggar, and Sichuan basins, further confirming the huge exploration and development potential of my country's ultra-deep layers.

According to geological predictions, there may be abundant oil and gas resources buried 10,000 meters deep in the Tarim Basin. Once this well achieves a breakthrough, it will open up a "treasure house" of oil and gas below 10,000 meters and form a replacement area for increasing reserves and production in ultra-deep formations.
Digging thousands of meters into the ground to find oil sources and gas veins
The Tarim Basin ranks first in the country in ultra-deep oil and gas resources, with most of the oil and gas buried in ultra-deep strata of seven to eight kilometers. Tarim Oilfield has better unlocked the "code" of deep exploration by drilling wells 10,000 meters deep.

At present, my country's first Wanmike exploration well is drilling into the 10,000-meter formation. The drill bit will penetrate 13 sets of formations in the Tarim Basin and eventually open the oldest ultra-deep oil formation in the Tarim Basin.

By finding the oil-generating layers buried deep underground, many geological problems in ultra-deep exploration will be easily solved. The Tarim Basin, located between the Kunlun Mountains in the Tianshan Mountains, is the largest oil and gas basin in my country. The vicissitudes of geological movements have caused oil and gas to be buried deep underground, and their deposition has formed "treasures" of oil and gas resources.

The 560,000-square-kilometer Tarim Basin is rich in oil and gas reserves, accounting for more than half of the country's ultra-deep resources. In recent years, the Tarim Oilfield has discovered two trillion cubic meters of atmospheric areas and a billion-ton large oil area here, building my country's largest ultra-deep oil and gas production base.
Drilling wells 10,000 meters deep will not affect the formation structure
Climbing to the sky, entering the earth, descending to the sea, and climbing to the pole are feats of human exploration of nature. Building a 10,000-meter-deep well requires drilling a hole more than ten kilometers underground. Will this hole change the stratigraphic structure? Will it cause geological disasters?

Based on the changes in the propagation speed of seismic waves, people have determined that the internal structure of the earth is a concentric circle structure, which is divided into the core, mantle and crust from the center to the surface. Drilling a well 10,000 meters deep is to drill the crust.

In fact, wells 10,000 meters deep have been drilled in the world without any record of significant impact on the formation structure. my country's ultra-deep drilling practice has repeatedly proven that drilling will not induce geological disasters such as volcanoes and earthquakes.
Diving into the bottom of the sea, a batch of deep-sea equipment has made new breakthroughs
At the beginning of the new year, my country's independently developed deep-sea power weapon has made new breakthroughs. The 10,000-meter manned submersible "Struggle" has received a comprehensive upgrade; the world's first deep-sea green smart technology test vessel has entered the construction stage; the ocean drilling ship "Dream" has a drilling capacity of 11,000 meters and is expected to be delivered by the end of the year; my country's latest development The deep-sea mining vehicle is preparing for a thousand-meter sea trial.

This deep-sea mining vehicle is a "magic weapon" dedicated to mining deep-sea polymetallic sulfides. Deep-sea polymetallic sulfide is a deep-sea mineral resource rich in copper, zinc, gold, silver and other metals. The metal content is more than 600 times that of similar minerals on land, making it highly valuable for mining.

Du Xinguang has led the team to conduct research on deep-sea mining vehicles for more than ten years. Among them, the most difficult thing is how to make the mining vehicles withstand the super pressure of the deep sea. With many years of experience in the development of deep submersibles, Du Xinguang and his team continue to explore. When encountering problems that cannot be solved, he will take a look at this squashed cup.

As the submersible sinks deeper and deeper, the surrounding water pressure will increase. When it reaches 3,000 meters, the equipment will bear a pressure of 300 atmospheres, and the paper cup will be squeezed into a group.

Du Xinguang said that manned deep submersibles can go down and mining vehicles can also reach it. A small cup gave Du Xinguang the confidence to persevere.
Deep-sea mining vehicle conducts thousand-meter sea trial after Spring Festival

After the Spring Festival, the mining truck will undergo a thousand-meter sea trial. The success of the sea trial means that the mining vehicle has moved from research and development to engineering. The friends in the development team are very excited. They also want to bring a "souvenir" belonging to the mining vehicle from the seabed of a thousand meters. This is an honor that belongs to each of them.

In 2024, China's deep-sea equipment field will continue to usher in new progress.

The 10,000-meter manned submersible "Struggle" is undergoing optimization and debugging to prepare for subsequent manned deep dives.

The first deep-sea green intelligent technology test vessel will be completed and can support sea trials of deep-sea equipment in the future.

The world's only ocean drilling ship "Dream" with a drilling capacity of 11,000 meters will be delivered at the end of the year. It has the world's largest on-board laboratory and can undertake major national science and technology projects and international ocean scientific drilling tasks in the future.

A batch of powerful deep-sea weapons will continue to create "China's depth" and build the deep-sea's "China's business card."
