Jan 12, 2024
In 2023, Daqing Drilling Company No. 1 drilled a total of 55 wells and completed 54 wells in the overseas drilling market, with a footage of 187,000 meters and an income of 900 million yuan. It received 15 letters of commendation from Party A and set high targets many times. The new record has polished Daqing Drilling's business card in exploring overseas markets with actions.
Since last year, the unit has been adhering to the market development principle of "optimizing management and strengthening expansion" and aiming at "improving quality and efficiency, creating excellence and creating efficiency". It has fully understood the variability and complexity of market development work, and has taken a steady and steady approach to seize the opportunity. Seize opportunities, face difficulties, scientifically promote target management, strive to improve project operation quality and efficiency creation capabilities, and help the company develop with high quality.
Focus on safety management and achieve greater success in continuous safe production. In strict accordance with the company's safety and environmental protection grid management work plan, we continued to promote safety grid management, combined with localized management, and divided grid work areas. The HSE work of foreign projects achieved good results throughout the year, and no casualties occurred. The DQ047 and DQ057 drilling teams, which have been competing in the Saudi high-end drilling market for many years, have actively implemented various safety measures, focused on cultivating safety culture, practiced safety concepts, promoted a rigorous work style, and steadily advanced safety production. The DQ057 drilling team has achieved four consecutive years of safe production without interruption. After the accident, the DQ047 drilling team achieved safe production for nine consecutive years and received congratulatory letters from Party A, Saudi Aramco.
Focusing on business management and control, our ability to improve quality and efficiency was once again enhanced. Since last year, the unit has closely focused on the main line of increasing operating income and controlling variable costs. In accordance with the cost reduction and efficiency improvement plan of each drilling team formulated at the beginning of the year, the unit has strengthened the supervision of the production timeliness and cost expenditure of the frontline drilling team, and conducted monthly monitoring of foreign projects. Conduct a summary analysis of the operating conditions. Organize platform managers to report on their work, analyze the reasons for increases and decreases in cost and income, find out the key points of cost management for each team, and remind each team of the key points of operational work. Each team is also trying every means to tap potential and increase efficiency, increase daily rates, and ensure steady growth in revenue. Last year, the full-day rate of the three drilling teams in the Saudi project remained above 99.8%, and the full-day rate of the DQ037 team in the Rumaila project in Iraq reached 98.2%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points compared with the same period last year.
Focusing on technical management, good results in drilling construction are frequently reported. Organize a special seminar on inter-well relocation and formulate an improvement plan for inter-well relocation. Collect, analyze and share equipment maintenance cases, and provide tips on equipment maintenance and repair for drilling teams based on the characteristics of different equipment countries and construction sites. Actively summarize and share work experience, formulate special plans for improving quality and efficiency, and ensure that various measures are implemented through audio conferences, offline discussions, etc., which promotes the improvement of the team's construction capabilities and spreads good results frequently. The FH-32 well drilled by the DQ045 drilling team in Zubair, Iraq, has an average drilling rate of 10.78 meters/hour for four 311 mm boreholes, a total contracting period of 74.46 days, and a design advance of 28.54 days, setting a new record for the fastest drilling rate in Block 9. The record of the shortest general contracting period was recognized and commended by Party A Kuwait Energy Company. The DQ057 drilling team of the Saudi project was committed to speeding up the relocation, overcoming multiple difficulties such as high temperatures and heat, contract changes, etc., through overall planning and clear division of labor. All 11 well relocations throughout the year were ahead of Party A's KPI standards. Compared with last year, the average relocation cycle speed was 0.45 days. The relocation between wells has been improved for two consecutive years, and the fastest record of relocation between wells was 4.9 days. Daqing Drilling's first shallow sea artificial island well in an overseas project constructed by the DQ050 drilling team of the Saudi project faced the difficulties, such as ultra-high humidity and high temperature environment, and faced the difficulties, made overall planning and coordination, seized the opportunity early, improved the efficiency of moving and installation, and actively implemented Party A made rectifications and passed the drilling acceptance of Baker Hughes and Saudi Aramco in just 10 days, and successfully completed the entire well construction. The Saudi project DQ057 team worked together and implemented precise policies. During the construction of multiple wells, they completed wells ahead of Party A's KPI without any time-loss incidents. This was highly recognized and praised by Party A's Weatherford Company and Saudi Aramco. The DQ011 drilling team of the Rumaila project took a net time of 4 hours to complete the overall translational relocation of the derrick 30 meters, setting a high level of translational relocation with a good result of 1.25 days ahead of the standard relocation time, and setting a new record for the team's translational relocation.
