Break Through The Forbidden Zone The Annual Production Capacity Of My Country's Largest Coalbed Methane Field Reaches 2.5 Billion Cubic Meters

On March 26, the daily gas production at the wellhead of the Qinshui coalbed methane field in North China Oilfield exceeded 7 million cubic meters, marking the annual production capacity of my country's largest coalbed methane field reaching 2.5 billion cubic meters.

Coalbed methane, commonly known as gas, is a dangerous "killer" in coal mining. It is also a clean energy and strategic resource that has a calorific value higher than that of general coal and produces almost no waste gas when burned. Countries around the world are competing to develop and utilize it.

Huabei Oilfield has focused on self-reliance and self-reliance with high-level science and technology, and has innovated and tackled key problems for many years. It has built China Petroleum's first pilot mining test base in the field of coalbed methane. It has created high-coal-rank coal seams in high-coal-rank reservoirs that are generally considered to be "forbidden areas" in exploration and development. The air drainage development method has filled the gaps at home and abroad and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Supported by new development methods and technologies, Huabei Oilfield has built my country's first digital and large-scale coal bed methane field, with the proportion of high-yield wells exceeding 49% and the production capacity in place exceeding 95%.

In order to further release the production capacity of the Qinshui coalbed methane field, the North China Oilfield launched the uploading project from the Mabi Cooperation Block to the West-East Gas Pipeline Qinshui Water Pressurized Gas Station. In August 2023, the second pipeline from the Qinshui coalbed methane field to the national backbone pipeline network was successfully connected, which can increase the pipeline export capacity by 1.5 billion cubic meters per year, forming a new dual-channel export pattern of coalbed methane. As a result, the export capacity of the Jinnan coalbed methane pipeline in the Huabei Oilfield reaches 3.5 billion cubic meters per year, adding confidence to the winter natural gas supply in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong, Jiangsu and other regions.

Since the beginning of this year, Huabei Oilfield has strengthened the production capacity construction of Zhengzhuang, Fanzhuang, Mabidong and other blocks, promoted decline control of old wells, continued production increase of new wells and measures to increase production of low-yield wells, and implemented "four major production stabilization and production increase projects" and "five major efficiency improvement guarantees" Project" and "a transformation and upgrading project", laying a solid foundation for stable and increased production of gas fields.
