Bohai Oilfield, My Country's Largest Crude Oil Production Base, Has Added Another 10 Million Tons Of Production Capacity To The New Area

On January 18, reporters learned from CNOOC Tianjin Branch that in 2023, the oil and gas production of the Bonan Oilfield Group in the Bohai Oilfield exceeded 10 million cubic meters for the first time, successfully establishing another grassroots oil production area with an annual production capacity of 10 million tons. It has created a new growth pole for my country's increase in crude oil reserves and production.

The average water depth in the sea area where the Bonan Oilfield Group is located is about 20 meters. Since the first oil field was put into production in 1989, a total of 14 oil fields have been built, and a total of more than 100 million cubic meters of oil and gas have been contributed to the country. Because the geological structure of the Bonan Oilfield Group is very complex, exploration and development are difficult. In the past 10 years, the Bonan Oilfield Group has discovered more than 10 oil fields in old exploration areas, contributing more than 900 million tons of oil and gas reserves, creating an exploration miracle of "old areas never grow old".

Since 2023, after the Kenli 6-1 oil field development project of the Bonan Oilfield's 100-million-ton oil field was put into full production, the daily production level has exceeded 25,000 tons in one fell swoop. The large-scale development of 100-million-ton oil fields and the tapping of the potential of old oil fields have continued to advance. It is understood that the crude oil increment of the entire oil field group in 2023 will exceed 2 million tons, accounting for nearly 90% of the total increment of crude oil in the Bohai Oilfield, my country's largest crude oil production base, and about 45% of the total increment of crude oil in the country.
