The first cylindrical floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) in Asia designed and built by my country, "Anemone No. 1", was completed and delivered in Qingdao, Shandong, marking a major breakthrough in the key technologies of independent design and construction of deepwater oil and gas equipment in my country, which is of great significance to promoting the economic and efficient development of deepwater oil and gas fields in my country.
It is understood that the maximum oil storage capacity of "Anemone No. 1" is 60,000 tons, and it can process about 5,600 tons of crude oil per day. After delivery, it will be towed to the deep sea with a water depth of 324 meters for back connection. Together with Asia's first deepwater jacket platform "Haiji No. 2", it will serve in my country's first deepwater oil field, Liuhua 11-1 Oilfield, and innovatively form the first "deepwater jacket platform + cylindrical FPSO" development model in China, providing a new solution for the efficient development of deepwater oil and gas fields in my country.
"Anemone No. 1" consists of a hull and upper functional modules, with a maximum diameter of about 90 meters, a main deck area equivalent to 13 standard basketball courts, a height of nearly 30 floors, and a total weight of about 37,000 tons, equivalent to the weight of 30,000 cars. Looking down from the air, it looks like a sunflower blooming in the sea.
Liu Huaxiang, general manager of the Deepwater Engineering Construction Center of CNOOC Shenzhen Branch, said that the "Anemone No. 1" has realized the independent application of 15 key technical equipment such as the integrated sea and land intelligent central control system, the natural gas dual-tower process desulfurization system, and the large-capacity hydraulic submersible pump. It also uses a new natural gas desulfurization device and a dual-fuel generator for the first time on a domestic offshore platform, which can make full use of the associated gas of the oil field and effectively improve the green energy-saving level of the offshore oil field.
"Anemone No. 1" consists of nearly 600,000 parts, with a designed displacement of 100,000 tons and a design life of 30 years. It can operate continuously at sea for 15 years without returning to the dock. Due to the complex production process and the high degree of integration of equipment and facilities, it poses a great challenge to the design and construction technical capabilities.

"The project team concentrated its superior resources to overcome a series of technical difficulties such as the integrated system design of cylindrical floating production equipment, high-precision construction integration, and full-process digital debugging. The construction period was shortened by nearly 50% compared with the international equipment of the same type. The precision control reached the millimeter level, the first-time quality pass rate exceeded 99.8%, and an excellent safety performance of 8 million man-hours without accidents was achieved. The overall engineering construction reached the world's advanced level, enabling my country to independently build different types of deepwater oil and gas equipment according to different oil fields and different sea areas." Zhang Meng, deputy general manager of CNOOC Offshore Oil Engineering Project Branch, introduced.
In recent years, my country has successively completed a number of deepwater floating production, storage and offloading units, including the world's largest tonnage FPSO P67 and P70 "sister ships", my country's largest operating water depth FPSO "Offshore Oil 119", and the first intelligent FPSO "Offshore Oil 123", achieving a comprehensive breakthrough in the manufacturing capacity of large-scale deepwater oil and gas equipment.
